Ceramic Fiber Blankets
Fiberfrax Durablanket products are lightweight, efficient high temperature alumina – silica insulations that offer stability at elevated temperatures with high resistance to thermal shock. Durablanket products contain no organics, and are unaffected by most chemicals except hydrofluoric acids, phosphoric acids, and concentrated alkalies. If wet by water or steam thermal and physical properties remain unaffected after drying.
Fiberfrax Durablanket® S ceramic fiberblanket is a strong, lightweight, flexible, needled insulating blanket made from spun ceramic fibers. Durablanket® S has a 2300ºF use limit, and a melting temperature of 3200ºF. Thicknesses range from ¼” to 2”. Fiberfrax Durablanket® 2600 extends the high temperature performance of the Durablanket product line to 2600ºF applications. Fiberfrax Fibermax Mat is a lightweight, (1.5 lb / cubic ft) flexible blanket for applications up to 3000ºF. Fibermax Mat is composed of polycrystalline mullite fibers with virtually no shot. Moist Pak-D insulation is made from high strength ceramic fiber blanket impregnated with inorganic bonding agents. This wet, flexible blanket air dries to form a hard, rigid structure. Moist-Pak D is ideal for insulating complex shapes and for applications experiencing high gas velocities.

Soluble Fiber Blankets and Needled Silica Blankets
Armil C.F.S. offers several high temperature blankets for applications in which ceramic fiber can not be used. These include soluble and silica blankets.
Unifrax Insulfrax® and Isofrax® soluble fiber blankets are unique high temperature alternatives to ceramic fiber. These products are designed to have enhanced in-vitro solubility characteristics which enable them to meet European regulatory requirements for synthetic vitreous fibers. Both Insulfrax® and Isofrax® comply with European DG XI Directive 97/69/EC. Insulfrax® blankets are spun from calcium, magnesium, silica fibers for applications to 1800°F. Isofrax® blankets are spun from a unique patented silica-magnesia fiber for applications exceeding 2300°F.
Armil C.F.S. offers Silica blankets composed of 100% needled amorphous silica fibers. These products are non-respirable, offer zero shot content, and offer exceptional tensile stregths. Silica blankets can be used in applications up to 1800°F. Silica Blankets are highly resilient, and offer outstanding resistance to vibrational degradation. Unlike ceramic or soluble blankets, Armil C.F.S. Silica blankets actually increase strength at elevated temperatures.
